The Nintendo 3DS has come out with much fanfare among portable console fans, much more so due to the device’s ability to allow true 3D gameplay without the need for passive glasses of any kind. Well, One Piece fans will be delighted to know that the franchise is planning a massive release for the 3DS, titled “One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP”!
One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP brings back the well beloved characters of the Straw Hat Crew, including Luffy, Zorro, Sanji, Nami, Robin, Franky and all the others, in addition to introducing a few of the title’s side protagonists as well.
In addition, hold your breath for the other epic characters which will be making an appearance in the game, such as Whitebeard, Garp and Mihawk of the Shichibukai! The official trailer also featured the appearance of Oz, the zombie wizard king of Thriller Bark, so expect to be pleasantly surprised with a lot of familiar faces!
Gameplay seems smooth and crisp, and is similar to the well-crafted style familiar in the earlier Unlimited Cruise games which have appeared on the Wii; but the extra dimension should provide an amazing field of depth to the already wonderful story and world of One Piece. Imagine fighting the battle of Marineford in real 3D, with Marines and pirates surrounding your pirate on all sides! The potential is just unbelievable!
One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP will be available for the Nintendo 3DS as early as Spring of 2011. Look out, Luffy, here we come!
